Leaning into Lament

This Lent*, I’m following the psalmists’ examples and giving myself permission to lament. An opportunity to cry out to God by myself and with others. You may wonder if we end up feeling more downcast, instead there is a sense of Presence. God meets and holds us right where we are - in the deep pain and sorrow. We sense God renewing our hearts, restoring hope. I’m finding a richness and a beauty in it. The burden of sorrow and darkness is lighter with the Light shining.

*my description of Lent is found in last year’s post
