Christ Healing the Sick

I deeply resonate with this image by Rembrandt: Christ Healing the Sick.

I continue to struggle with Chronic Fatigue. Some days I feel robbed, and grieve what I don’t have. I struggle. I cry out. Did the person in this image feel the same?

Jesus looks upon this person in love, meeting them right where she is at. In the midst of the pain, the grief, the heartache. Whether it is physical or emotional pain, it matters not to Jesus. He sees her, He loves her. He locks eyes, and draws her up. He heals that which is broken. Can you place yourself in the place of this woman? Receive Jesus’ loving and steadfast gaze upon you. He sees you, He knows you and loves you. Share with Him what you need, express your gratitude for His loving you and giving you just what you need from Him. Simply be.
